During a vacation in the woods, a man has to endure a series of trials in order to find his family who has mysteriously disappeard.
Joko Anwar, wonderboy of today's Indonesian fantastic cinema, has enjoyed an unusual carrer since he started with Kala (2005) and The Forbidden Door (2009). Modus Anomali was made in 8 days in a unique setting, with an uncanny energy and an exhilarating scenography. The film is a pure bad trip, vertiginous and nihilist, a kind of evil twin of a The Twilight Zone episode.
