Malik and Aaron move in with the latter’s daughter in a progressive neighbourhood. In the very first days spent in this new home, Malik witnesses strange conducts among his new neighbours, including homophobic domestic assaults.

Spiral deciphers the American liberal elites and their self-proclaimed progressivism, in the continuity of Get Out by Jordan Peele. Kurtis David Harder however is more focused on the construction of characters with tangible motivations, he is keen on directing the actors with precision, to the point that the slightest extra delivers a true performance. But this is just one merit of this movie, a suburban horror movie turned paranoiac thriller, how it diverts  the concept of politically correct is particularly clever.
