Director, scriptwriter and editor of his first feature film, Kirill Sokolov is a delight to festival-goers who enjoy cartoonesque torture of idiotic, insane, and a priori indestructible characters. The staging shows plain cruelty, multiplies epic scenes and twisted ideas to go against the expectations of the viewers, who will inevitably ask for more - sadistic as they are. Why Do not You Just Die adds to the bloodshed a brilliant photography, where the dominant colour is obviously red, in all its shades.
