We have missed Jaume Balagueró since the very wise Sleep Tight in 2011. [REC] 4: Apocalypse left a feeling of incompleteness, Muse and Final Robbery diluted his filmic personality in frustrating narratives. But with his latest film, all is forgiven. Venus signs the return to a hard-hitting cinema, a furious desire to shake up the indolence of the time and to wake it up with foghorns in the ears. The contemporary cinema rustles with the power relations between the genres, the panorama of this edition can largely testify. Jaume Balagueró doesn't beat about the bush and declares war in due form. What to end the festivities with a bang.
