Remember the name of Viljar Bøe, the new king of the low budget high concept. His first feature film, Til Freddy, drew all its strength from its striking postulate, masterfully handled, in compensation for an almost amateurish production. Good Boy has an idea that is just as sharp, and the assurance of a much more accomplished production on all levels, from the photography to the direction of the actors. The incongruity of the situation gives it all the appearance of a black comedy with just the right amount of unease to keep you on the edge of your seat. The tension creeps in, sly, creepy, the scenario unfolds without any embellishment, in a bone-shattering duration that leaves you no chance to get bored.
