Francis Galluppi's first feature-length film brings together an astonishing cast, to say the least. On one side, Jim Cummings, a young prodigy of the American independent scene with the physique of a trader who has just swallowed your life savings. On the other, Richard Brake, a monumental good-luck charm seen in Rob Zombie's films. In between, the always impeccable veteran Gene Jones, straddling both worlds, as good in Scorsese as he is in Ti West. All these personifications of a different Hollywood come together in a modern Western where bon mots click as fast as bullets. The imperious mastery of the whole goes beyond a simple exercise in style, tending towards the dream fusion of auteur cinema and bis euphoria.
