Noticed at the last Venice Film Festival, this film amazes with its meticulous staging. Each shot, with its striking pictorial beauty and sometimes aided by stop-motion sequences of baroque dreaminess, is reminiscent of the precision and sensuality of the cinema of the Cattet-Forzani duo.
