PIFFF 2024 - Shorts films selection

As the mainstay of the PIFFF program, the short film screenings are particularly close to our hearts! Every year, they're a chance to discover genre cinema in a compact format, but with an unlimited imagination. 16 short films, 16 formidable fields of experimentation created by the talents of tomorrow, not to be missed at Max Linder Panorama!

French Short Film Competition

A 100% made-in-France selection to blow a fresh, bloody wind onto our screens! Three prizes will be awarded: the Prix Ciné+ Frissons, the Prix du Jury and the Prix du Public.

La voix de son maître by Alexandre Pierrin: 15-year-old Adam lives with his mother Inès, a scientist obsessed with clandestine experiments on the animals on her farm. But one day, everything goes wrong.

Le Bézoard by Laure-Élie Chénier-Moreau: Having just lost her mother, Anna discovers a hairy monster in her home. Cohabitation is just beginning.

Lui by Matthias Couquet: François meets his friend Pierre in a café. Pierre claims he is being followed by an unknown man.

Prends chair by Armin Assadipour : Venance, an overweight teenager harassed in his neighborhood and even at home, sees his body transformed into an outlet for his malaise.

Linda la belle mère de Toucher Velours (Hugo Loiseleux and Elisa Hazebrouck): In a 1980s commercial, a teenager pushes open the door to a dusty attic. He comes face to face with a fortune-telling automaton...

Flush by Raphaël Treiner: Pregnant Marianne and one-night plumber Ben join forces to survive a hellish night of monsters in a building plagued by a mysterious evil.

Cavale by Xavier Magot: The inexorable fall of an angry man on the murderous run.

Anechoique by Enzo Croisier: Pierre is a very professional person, in all circumstances. But this time, he didn't expect to have to give so much of himself...

International Short Film Competition

No need to get out of your seat, the PIFFF brings you the best in short films from the four corners of the globe! Two prizes will be awarded: the Prix du Public and, new for 2024, the Prix Shadowz (with subsequent broadcast on the SVOD platform).

The Companions by José María Flores (Spain) - French Premiere: A young couple goes out to dinner without their children. In the street, a crowd gathers around something.

Outside Noise by Ethan Evans (UK) - French premiere: A woman listens to a background noise app to fall asleep. When the sounds start to blend in with reality, she thinks there's something in her room.

Zoé by Rémi St-Michel (Canada) - French premiere: The remaining shreds of Zoé's mind cling desperately to her vague memories.

The Last Thing She Saw by Anthony Cousins and Rebecca Daugherty (USA) - French Premiere: After being horribly mutilated by two burglars, Emmy has to use her wits to “see” her way out.

Make Me a Pizza by Talia Shea Levin (USA): A woman offers to pay the deliveryman who's just brought her pizza in kind. But can sex equal the true value of pizza?

Meat Puppet by Eros Vlahos (UK): On the day he promises his girlfriend he'll finally become an adult, a young man can't resist testing out a new puppet.

Atom & Void by Gonçalo Almeida (Portugal): From her burrow, a repetitive rumbling disrupts Valya's life, pushing her towards the unknown, the unexplored.

Hive by Felipe Vargas (USA) - French premiere: A babysitter loses sight of the little girl she's looking after in a playground. She soon realizes that all the children are behaving strangely.
