Ever since 2016, the Grand Prix Climax’s goal is to encourage creation in the field of Genre cinema, to defend the work of the scenario and to encourage collaboration with directors or producers so that in the near future French Genre creations will emerge, reflecting their rich plurality and diversity.

This year, Grand Prix Climax becomes an organisation, it is still supported by the PIFFF, the Max Linder Panorama and Backstory L'Association. The prize includes an intense competition with the pre-selection of 12 screenplays and the further selection of the five finalist screenplays of the Grand Prix Climax 2021!

The 5 finalists are:

- Autoscopie by Raphaël Bekhouche
- Les Brasiers by Florent Leone & Matthieu Spinazzola
- La Grosseur by Emma Legendre
- Lumpendoktor by Rémy Rondeau
- La Marque by Franck Richard

A jury composed of film and fiction professionals will hold a Masterclass about the situation of Genre cinema today in France and unveil the winning project which will be announced after the screening of the video presentations of the five finalists.
