Charley is persuaded of it, his new neighbor is a vampire. Obviously, nobody believes him, neither his mother, nor his girlfriend, nor the police force. His only salvation could come from Peter Vincent, a has-been Z-series actor reconverted into a TV presenter.

Prolific screenwriter (Class 1984, Psycho II...), Tom Holland moves on to directing in conditions that are all the more comfortable since his project is not really the studio's priority. He thus has all the latitude to create a model of 1980s B-movie fantasy, with particularly careful special effects and characters as unsympathetic as they are endearing. William Ragsdale is a perfect knucklehead, Chris Sarandon rolls around like there's no tomorrow (Colin Farrell will have the hardest time making you forget him in the pitiful remake), and Roddy McDowall is simply marvellous as an old faded glory of exploitation.
