Yann Lepentrec, known as the Dobermann, gathers his gang for his most ambitious coup: a triple bank robbery in the middle of Paris. The humiliation suffered by the police force brings out the dreaded commissioner Sauveur Cristini, a pure sworn psychopath.

In the 1980s, whether in prison or on the run, French gangsters made it a point of honour not to miss any of the adventures of the Dob, a cheeky literary creation by Joël Houssin that was steeped in the culture of the underworld during the Giscard and Mitterrand administrations. For his first feature film, Jan Kounen wants to fight back. By resurrecting this mythical figure, he intends to dynamite the moribund French genre cinema, to piss on all decorum from his famous credits, to deliver a punk gesture in the most radical sense of the term. Rediscovering the film today is like getting an adrenaline shot directly into your eyeball.
